Durham Region- Sort, inspect, and organize donated food items by category and expiry date
- Pack food hampers and boxes according to household size and dietary needs
- Assist with the distribution of food to community members during service hours
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace at all times
- Follow all food handling, health, and safety protocols
- Greet and interact with patrons in a welcoming, non-judgmental manner
- Assist with receiving and unloading food donations and deliveries
- Support inventory counts and stock rotation as directed
- Participate in special food drives, community events, and outreach as needed
- Communicate any concerns or feedback to the Volunteer Coordinator
Become a facilitator and work as a team to support those with emotional or mental health concerns in a group setting* support groups take place in-person and virtually during the week * extensive training required
- Assist with setting up and running daily activities including games, word games, crafts, social programs, and community outings etc.
- Help prepare activity spaces, including moving furniture and setting up supplies or entertainment areas
- Helping with special events, game nights, clubs, creative and fitness classes, committees, etc.
- Encourage resident participation and social engagement
- Build positive relationships with residents through conversation and companionship

Summary of Role
As a Bingo/Casino volunteer you will be representing the DRCC at a local Ontario Lottery Gaming location and acting as an advocate and with general customer service skills. The DRCC is fortunate to receive a portion of profits through the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association, and as such we are required to represent our organization at a local OLG business during our set hours. You will be provided a collared shirt/vest, name tag, and will be sharing information about the DRCC, and supporting general operations at the gaming location.
Role Responsibilities
● Attend general DRCC training/orientation
● Represent DRCC as an advocate during set hours (2 hour shifts)
● Attend OCGA/OLG online training, and shadow an experienced volunteer prior to first shift
● Participate with, as needed, customer service tasks, including cleaning screens and other maintenance tasks
● Other duties as agreed upon
COSTI is currently recruiting volunteers for its Community Connections Program to support government-sponsored refugee families arriving in the Greater Toronto Area. Selected volunteers will be matched with a newcomer family to assist in their integration and settlement journey, providing guidance, support, and a welcoming presence as they adapt to their new community.
Duties of Welcome Group volunteers might vary based on the family’s needs, some of which might include

As a member of a customer-focused volunteer team, you will welcome patients and visitors to Lakeridge Health, provide them with appropriate and required assistance to find their destination within the hospital, and learn about the services and departments in the hospital.
