We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to assist with a refresh of the Oshawa ReStore. Your help makes a big difference!
Habitat for Humanity GTA is greater Toronto’s most recognized provider and advocate of 1988, Habitat GTA has built 25 new communities, empowering more than 500 families. solutions that tackle our region’s housing crisis. Our mission is to create a world where everyone has a safe, quality place to live. With the help of volunteers, donors and community partners, we unlock change for generations by bringing the benefits of home ownership to more people and communities. Since
Habitat ReStore is a chain of non-profit home improvement retail stores with locations across the Greater Toronto Area, owned and operated by Habitat for Humanity GTA. We sell home furnishings, appliances, and other renovation materials at a fraction of the price. Our items are donated from businesses and individuals and undergo inspection and testing to ensure they meet our high-quality standards.
What you need to know:

A one-hour online information session is required before your first volunteer shift.

Shifts are self-scheduled via online registration.

Volunteers must be a minimum of 18 years old.

Volunteer Role Description:

Seeking volunteers with painting experience or who are experienced with renovation tasks, attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Uniform required for volunteers to wear are CSA approved green triangle label safety. Shoes (some available on site to borrow), cargo pants/jeans and non-branded shirt.

A positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a sense of humour is always key!
Are you passionate about photography and looking to grow your portfolio while supporting a meaningful cause? We're seeking a creative and detailed-oriented Product Photographer to help us capture professional images of our products for marketing, social media and promotional use.

Strategic Leadership: Participate in the development and approval of the organization’s strategic direction, goals, and policies.

Financial Oversight: Ensure the financial health of the organization by reviewing financial reports, overseeing budget processes, and ensuring responsible fiscal management.

Fundraising and Resource Development: Assist in fundraising efforts and network with potential donors, partners, and stakeholders to support the organization’s funding needs.

Governance and Compliance: Ensure the organization adheres to legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements, and maintain high standards of governance.

Risk Management: Monitor and evaluate potential risks to the organization and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are in place.

Board Engagement: Attend and actively participate in Board meetings, committee work, and other key events, providing valuable input and support.

Advocacy and Representation: Represent the organization at public events, in the community, and with potential donors or partners.
- Evaluation and Improvement: Regularly assess the organization’s performance and contribute to discussions on continuous improvement.

Assist with event planning, client support, data entry, fundraising activities, etc.

Collaborate with staff and other volunteers to achieve project goals

Attend and support community outreach programs or events

Help with administrative tasks as needed (e.g., phone calls, emails, filing)

Represent Terra Nova in a positive and professional manner

Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of individuals and families served by the organization

Participate in volunteer meetings, training, or orientation sessions as required
Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority (CLOCA) has a variety of volunteer opportunities for secondary and post-secondary students, corporate opportunities, festival events (Durham Children's Watershed Festival and Purple Woods Maple Syrup Festival) and the Conservation Area Trail Stewards (CATS) program.
TCEP is looking for an enthusiastic person to provide support with organizing and starting a garden including helping with ongoing garden maintenance. As well as offer educational programs in the garden. Our aim is to offer quality fresh foods to the community whenever possible.

Provide oversite as a board member for social housing, monthly meetings. Work with the property management company to insure all aspects of the building are addressed.
Demonstrate daily activities of museum woodwork shop * create items for sale in gift shop * use skills to repair and restore existing village buildings
Assist shoppers purchase new and gently-used womens, mens and childrens clothing * ensure tidiness of store * set up and take down displays * handle cash * sort clothing donations * promote, be able to talk to customers about Bethesda House
