Duties

Afiwi Groove School is seeking a motivated and relationship-focused Sponsorship & Fundraising Specialist to support the growth and sustainability of our programs through sponsorship development, fundraising initiatives, and community partnerships. This role helps secure resources and financial support to expand opportunities for youth, arts, culture, and community engagement programs.

Position Type: Volunteer (Virtual & In-Person)

Time Commitment: 10–20 hours per month

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify potential sponsors, donors, grant opportunities, and community partners
  • Support sponsorship outreach through emails, calls, presentations, and partnership proposals
  • Help develop sponsorship packages and fundraising materials
  • Coordinate fundraising campaigns, donation drives, and community fundraising initiatives
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with sponsors, supporters, and community stakeholders
  • Assist with planning fundraising events and sponsorship activations
  • Track sponsorship and fundraising efforts, contacts, and contributions
  • Collaborate with the Afiwi team to support organizational growth and sustainability goals
  • Help communicate the impact of Afiwi Groove School programs to potential supporters and partners

Ideal Candidate

  • Passionate about community development, youth empowerment, arts, and culture
  • Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills
  • Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • Experience or interest in fundraising, sponsorships, sales, partnerships, nonprofit development, or community outreach is an asset
  • Comfortable with email outreach, presentations, and basic digital tools
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills
