Duties

Volunteers at Sunrise Developmental Support Services’ New Year’s Eve Overnight Bash will have a variety of roles depending on their shift:

  • Pre-event / Setup (Day-time Dec. 31st): Assist with decorating, moving and setting up tables, and food preparation.

  • Glamour Hour (Dec. 31st from 5-6pm): Help members as they arrive for early hair and makeup in preparation for the evening festivities.

  • During the Event (Starts at 6pm): Join in the fun with our members as they enjoy a “Night in Vegas” theme — including dancing, karaoke, card and board games. Volunteers may also help facilitate table games; guidance will be provided for any unfamiliar games, or volunteers can be assigned an alternative task.

  • Support: Volunteers are not responsible for personal hygiene, but should notify staff if a member requires assistance.

  • Overnight / Morning: Volunteers may stay overnight to assist with morning preparations, including setting up and serving a fresh brunch.

  • Pack-up / Follow-up: Assist with cleaning up and packing up at the cabin. Volunteers who accompany staff back to Sunrise’s main building to unpack equipment and supplies will earn an extended 2 volunteer hours.

Volunteers will be provided with food, beverages, and support throughout their shift.

Benefits Unforgettable experience celebrating with our members in a fun, themed overnight event.
